Go Away Monster!

Go Away Monster! Is a preschool game from one of our favorite game maker Gamewright, where players try to find the missing pieces of their bedroom set, but in the event they find a sneaky monster instead, they get to loudly proclaim “Go Away Monster!” and get rid of it for good!

Advertised as 3+, with 2-4 players, a round plays quite quickly in about 10 minutes.

This game is simple and easy to play. You have cardboard beds, pictures, toys and lamps mixed into a bag along with monsters. Try to draw what you need, so the kids learn about shape discernment, but are also empowered to tell the monsters to go away!

Mom Thoughts : a cute and fun game to play with young ones, especially if you have a nervous one who is scared of the dark. Pull this one out at bedtime, play a quick round so kids can say “go away, Monster!”

Werewolf thoughts : too easy, it’s impossible to lose (I reminded her that it wasn’t geared for 9 year olds)

Rosie thoughts : it’s good, I’ll play with my little brother.

Robot thoughts : I like it, I like telling the monsters to go away and getting the teddy bear

Lizard Thoughts : I really like that game!

Overall Recommendation: this is a cute and fun game to play with your little one but it doesn’t have a long shelf life. Once they are past kindergarten, they are likely done with this game. But it plays quick enough that older kids don’t mind playing with younger ones.
